Elder

An elder is one who is awake to their inextricable connection to all that is, and aware that the web that holds us all together is knit together with Love.
Love is the force and the source, the tie that binds and the creative power through which all is being made and held in this moment and in each moment.
Once one has seen through the myth of separation and is able to live (as best one can) out of love, eldering as a verb is as simple and unavoidable as breathing.
To Elder, is to give away one's final season for the good of the world.
This giving away isn't necessarily sacrificial and certainly not performative, it is simple what one wants to do when intoxicated in Love.

Raising up Elders for the Good of the World

EROP-The Elders' Rites of Passage

Ned was the primary founder and creator of the EROP, though he has help from many in this project, especially from Jonathan Miller and Belden Lane.

Since 2018, this transformational event has served hundreds of men from over 10 countries and most US states. This event is offered regularly within Illuman, the global community of men founded out of Richard Rohr's remarkable men's work. It is hosted in the US, the Czech Republic, and coming soon to Germany.

The Eldering Journey

Ned began this 10 month course in 2021, and it has been offered annually since then in the US, and now regularly in Germany as well (in German). Held within a cohort of peers, and with teachings from remarkable elders, you'll walk through the major movements that help you step deeper into being a generative elder. The course includes readings, teachings, practices, peer work, group work, and a monthly gathering online.

Creating new Elders Rites

Ned sees the need for thousands of versions of Elders Rites of Passages which can be contextualized into communities. On his list is to create one for Christian communities to use. If you want help developing a rite of passage for elders in your community, reach out and ask.

Elder's Weave - An Elders' Rites for All

Out of the EROP work, a similar rites have been formed and offered that is open to everyone, not just men. This event is also offered regularly in the US. Folks come both as individuals and sometimes as couples to go through what has been a transformational springboard for folks into deeper waters.
